You post pictures on Tumblr of the kind of person you want to be

abiguniverse asked: have you noticed a ton of boobies on facebook lately? like, girls explicitly wearing bras and taking pictures in them, then posting them? thoughts?

whenever i see that i feel like fb has become a pimp-site for prostitutes. with the whole girls-lacking-self-respect argument aside, i think it has a lot to do with the rave craze. people who don’t know any dubstep artists say they love it, people who’ve only been to one rave wrap mardi-gras necklaces on their wrists etc. bc going to raves looks like the ultimate young-reckless-living-free lifestyle, teenagers are attracted to it. i think many girls take advantage of this and use “raving” as an excuse to prowl around in nearly nothing. i’m not saying anything bad about raves, it’s the way some conceited girls who arent truly into the scene’s purpose manipulate it to their wants. and it’s gotten to the point where if you were to go to a teen club (not specifically raves)& not wear just a bra&spankies, you’re weird and unwanted (to the people there). i went to club stars wearing shorts, a bikini top, and a see-thru top. i felt like that was whoreish enough, but i got significantly less attention from guys only bc i was wearing more than others. my friend had to take her shirt off to get a guy to dance with her. i think it’s basically the attention/validation girls feel like they need, stemming from the opportunity clubs/raves provide

i’m so done seeing this shit on my facebook newsfeed. if i didnt rely on facebook to contact so many people i would deactivate it just for this.

1) you look like an idiot when you copyright your name to a photograph. you can do that when you have your own professional photo company. you’re 15 years old, get over yourself, you’re just using a canon rebel your parents bought you set on auto

2) no one wants to see countless pictures of a girl standing in a field of dead grass smiling. so what, the girl is pretty. if you want to focus on her beauty, then do a beauty profile shot. being outside does not automatically make it a good photo/artsy. have some purpose in your “art.” otherwise you look like vain teenage girls wasting your days trying to get the best profile picture thatll get you the most likes (oh wait, that’s exactly what you are!)

3) if you’re going to act all high&mighty about your photography, at least be good at it. it takes practice and taking artistic risks. taking pictures of the same things/people isn’t going to help you grow

4) i’m all for getting conceptual, but if you’re going to try to have some sort of theme, go all out! otherwise it looks half-done and lame. so the girl in the photo is standing in a dark alley, don’t make her smile and look cheerful! that’s so out of place. or a girl is in a field of flowers. sitting alone in the field. what’s she doing there? no one actually does that in real life! make it look natural not staged. so the girl is wearing a ball gown, why is she at a public park? pick a theme and put it to the extreme, that’s what makes photos powerful.

5) the vanity disgusts everyone. some people may tell you that the profiled girls “look gorgeousss!!! ily all!! <3 take photos for me sometime k?” but as a teenage girl you should know that deep down every other girl is comparing themselves, and despising you for your self-centeredness, arrogance, and vanity. and/or their own jealousy. it doesn’t make people like you or think highly of you. at all. it brings more hate into the world, particularly self-hate for some and hate for you.

maybe it’s just my fb friends, but this happens wayyyy too muchh. like every month there’s a new album. i’m sick of it. and yes, i’ve already tried hiding them from my newsfeed. it never ends

It’s the leftover humans. The survivors. They’re the ones I can’t stand to look at, although on many occasions I still fail. I deliberately seek out the colors to keep my mind off them, but now and then, I witness the ones who are left behind, crumbling among the jigsaw puzzle of realization, despair, and surprises. They have punctured hearts. They have beaten lungs.
